About

Michael G. Ming, ARA, is a recognized leader in agricultural real estate appraisal, brokerage, consulting, and renewable-energy land transactions. With more than 35 years of industry experience, he serves as President and Owner of Alliance Appraisal, LLC, and President, Owner, and Broker of Alliance Ag Services, Inc. His expertise encompasses agricultural and rural properties, permanent plantings, water resources, ag-commercial and transitional land, and properties associated with solar, wind, petroleum, and other renewable-resource uses. Michael holds the Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) designation and is a California Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and licensed Real Estate Broker. He has completed extensive advanced coursework in rural appraisal, income capitalization, highest and best use, eminent domain, permanent plantings, conservation easements, and federal appraisal standards. His appraisal practice serves clients throughout California, Arizona, and Nevada. Throughout his career, Michael has advised agricultural producers, institutional investors, financial institutions, attorneys, public agencies, water districts, renewable-energy developers, and major landowners. Alliance Ag Services has completed or has in process real estate transactions exceeding $1.63 billion, including more than $1.325 billion involving renewable-energy properties and projects. Michael has qualified as an expert witness in California courts, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California. His federal assignments have included work for the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation. He has also served as a contracting appraiser for the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. An active member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers since 1997, Michael served as President of the California Chapter in 2008–2009 and again in 2024–2025. He has chaired Region 5 of the California Chapter’s annual Trends® in Agricultural Land and Lease Values publication since 2010 and is a frequent presenter on agricultural land values and market conditions. He was also a contributing author to *Valuing Rural America: Foundations of Data Analysis*. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Fresno Pacific University. He remains actively involved in the agricultural and Bakersfield communities through numerous professional and civic organizations.
